1.) I thnk that Max is mad at anyone beacause when Doctor Spivak says on pg. 157. Kevin at a very young age knew that he wasn't going to have a long life. She is saying that Freak knew he was going to die soon so he lied about the body transplant. Dr. Spivak could say that Freak died in that body transplant. So that makes Max feel a little better. So I don't think he is really mad at anyone about Freak's death.

2.) I liked the book personaly beacause I was always thinking about what will happen next. Like when Killer Kane went up for porole I thought will he kill Max? Or when Freak had his second seizure I was thinking what will happen to Freak? Will he die will he stay alive. It kept you interested in the book which I thoght made it really good.

NOTE: No Mr. D thank you for reading the book to us. You would have a little different voice for each charecter which made me love the book even more. I hope you read the next book MAX THE MIGHTY as well as you read this one. THANKS AGAIN!!!!

Max is angry with Dr. Spivak when Freak dies because he thought that Dr. Spivak had lied to Freak about the Bionic Unit. He gets over his anger when Dr. Spivak says that she couldn't lie to Freak, because he used to look everything up in the medical dictionary

I like this book because it uses a lot of author craft and is very exciting. Also it uses a lot of suspense.

1.) I think Max is mad at Dr. Spivak because he thinks that Freak was telling the truth about getting the 1st bionic body transplant, and then Max thought that they didn't give it to him even though it wasn't really going to happen (Max didn't know that though). Also, Max probably thinks that they didn't try hard enough to save Freak.I think that he thinks that because his anger and sadness are getting the best of him.

2.)I enjoyed reading Freak the Mighty. I like how Rodman Philbrick got a very important message across in the book, but also had suspenceful and entertaining events like Killer Kane.

2: I didnt rally this boook beacuose it wasnt that intresting and i didnt really undrestand the book that well It didnt make any sence when Freak started to use all those crazy words that is why i didnt really like it.

1:mAX IS ANGRY BEACOUSE Dr. Spivak new that Freak was going to dye and the docter just made up aboyut the hole body transplant the reason he did that was to get Freaks hopes up beacouse he knew he was going to dye to.

1.) Max is angry with Dr.Spivak because Dr. Spivak told Freak that he was going to be the first bionicaly improved human ever. So Freak spent his whole life waiting until he was trance formed into a bionic human, and never made friends until his last year of life. That is why he was mad at her.
2.) I think it was boring because the book didn’t have any funny parts in it. I never really like books anyway so that is probably why I didn’t like the book.c.m#11

I think that Max is angry with Doctor Spivak because Max thinks she didn't do her job, which is to help people. If she had done her job, Freak would have lived. To finally get over his anger, he writes down everything he did in a story.

I liked the book because I never would have read this type of book on my own. It was a new type of writing style for me. This will help me open my mind to read other new styles/genres of writing.

Question 1.
A)Max was mad at Dr.Spivak because she was with Kevin the last time Max saw him.I can tell this because he was giving Dr.Spivak an attitude saying,(Dr.Spivak)"Better let me bandage up that hand, you're bleeding." And then Max changed the subject to something else.
B)Max looses his anger by Grim saying,"You know what? Most of us go all the way through life and we never had a friend like Kevin. So maybe you should count yourself lucky." I think Grim's right because you never get a friend like Kevin.
Question 2.
C)I would so recommend this book because of the suspence, similes,'hybobles',wise words, and characters.I Loved It!!I can't wait for the next book we're going to read!

At first Max was mad at the nurse because on p.p 156 "He believed you" "You said that you could give him a new body and he believed you." Max was not that mad at the and but he was sad for every moment of it.Then he knew Freak lied because he didn't want to hurt Max's feelings about his first and best friend. Freak wanted to injoy his life before he died so he made friends with Max.

I loved the book. You should read it. I loved how it was a mytery at the end of every chapter like on chapter 19 he ended the chapter with Killer Kane squeezing her dead (loretta)

1.) I argee with M.C. 1 because the doctor sayed "keven knew that he was not going to live long. Max thought that the doctors killed freak in the body tranplant but what happen was he died in the room. I think max was not mad at doctor spivak because no one could really stop freak's death. Doctor spivak said "you can't hid anything from freak" Freak did lied about the body transplant because he really wanted something to hope for.

2.) I liked the book because you really did not find out about max's father an till the end of the book and when the father comes into max's room and then the chapter ends and you want to read on. The only two part I did not like was when freak died and he choked on his food. It was a sad, happy, funny, all at the same time it is a really good book. It starts of slow but gets better and better as you go along

Note: Thank for sharing this book with us and making this web site i thought it was a lot more fun to read each person post ratrher than write them in our note books your the best MR.D

Question 1:Max is mad at a few people it doesn't say but it seems like Max is mad at himself. He's moping around and that might be because he's sad but I think he's mad at himself. He's mad at Grim because he keeps telling him all this stuff he doesn't want to hear like on page 159 it says "You're going back to school if I have to hitch a rope to the bumper...." He's also mad at Tony D. for being nice to him.
Question 2: I like how one of the themes is really can do anything if you set your mind to it. I liked this book because it was a very insiteful book. I think it would of been beter if the author didn't end the book so quick.

1} I think that Max is the most mad at Dr. Spivak because I think that it is hard for a doctor to tell someone that one of there loved ones died. So since Max doesn’t have the best brain he might think that it is not hard for a doctor to tell someone that there loved one died. If it were not Freak that died and it was someone else, than Freak could explain that it I hard for a doctor to tell someone that there loved one passed. I think that the way that Max got over his anger was on page 158 Max hid under his bed and had the door closed and locked. Until Gram explained it to me. I think that Gram might have said that Freak touched many people’s life and he had a good life even though he was a young age, but Freak I still going to remembered by the people that he touched.

2} My thoughts about the book Freak the Mighty were I thought that the beginning was a little slow and I didn’t enjoy it as much. The middle got a whole lot better than the first chapter because I think it had a lot more suspense. The end of the book was better than the beginning and middle, but when we found out that Freak died that was sad because of how a great kid he was. I LOVED this book because it was no just plain old plain old it was more discriptful. It took places in more places than just in one place, but there were more places that it took place in.

1) I think Max was mad at Dr. Spivak because he thought she was lying to Freak about the body transplant. It ended up being a hope for Freak because he knew he wasn't going to live a long life and on page 157 Dr. Spivak said "Kevin at a very young age knew he wasn't going to live a long life." On page 158 it said that Freak was hoping and he wasn't sitting there complaining his whole life, he got the best out of his life, he did fun things, and let people make fun of him, he was proud to be alive for the time he was alive for. What helps him get over his anger was getting a blank book that Freak was going to write about all the adventures they had and describing all the fun they had and the book Max had wrote turned out being "Freak The Mighty" the book we read.

2) My thoughts about the book are, I think it was cool how they set up the ending how the book that Max wrote ended up being the book that we were reading, Freak The Mighty. I thought it was cool, how Rodman Philbrick set up the book by having us think and have to figure things out, like mc#1 said I was thinking if Killer Kane would would kill Max or if Freak would die from the seizure. These questions made me want to keep reading, never stop so it was a good book, I thought.

Thank you Mr. D for reading this good book to us, I like it and my mom is reading it starting next week. Freak the Mighty is now my favorite book and I thank you again for reading this book to us. I'm looking foward to reading Max The Mighty!!

I think that Max is mad at the nurses because Kevin said that they said to him that they were going to transform him into a bionic human. Kevin lied. But than they tell him that he knew he was going to die, and nobody could stop it. He get's over his anger because one day Grim went down to the down under and told Max that he was lucky that he even had a friend like Keven. Also I think he's lucky he even had a friend. I liked the book because it was really close to real life. Also it was really well writen.
Prediction: I think that Max will meet someone else like Freak.

I think maybe Max was angry with himself because he wishs that he could have saved Freak although he couldn't at all. He feels better about Freak dying when he writes down all of his adventures with Freak p.160. The first time I read the boook I found it to be a very intreging book. It kept me reading and it had very intrecite characters. I enjoyed the book very much.

1. I agree with mc 1 that Max was not mad at anyone a little. I also think that he was sort of mad at Dr. Spivak although he started to believe her once she started talking about Freak and his dictionary. I still think that he was a little mad at her because if your one and only (first) friend and he was in the ICU and the dr. failed his/her job? I would.
It helped Max get over his fears by him writing all of the journeys and fun times he had with Freak to keep him alive in his mind, memory.

2. I LOOOOOOOOOVED the book and I would recamend it to many people that are not sensitive, and will cry in the end.
My thoughts on this book was that it was a realy good book because the auther used alot of great description, and author craft like cliffhangers, suspence, hyperbole, and many more.(I practicly NEVER say I that LIKE a book. I don't LIKE
reading that much.)

Thanks Mr. D

Max is angry with himself. he is because he feels that he could of saved freak from dieing. Even though he knew he couldn't. He gets over his anger when Dr.Spivak explains that his heart was to big for his body. So he was going to die soon. But Freak tries to get over it by saying to himself he'll get a robot body. But he knows he won't. But when he tells Max he says a body transplant because he doesn't want Max to worry about him.

I like the book because a book where two friends meet. Then they tell the story of there lives. And what they did as friends. But has a tragic ending when Freak dies. My thoughts on the book were that it was intrsting with loads of suspence.

Note: Mr.d thank you for reading the book to us. You made it intresting and make like it was happening I liked the book and I can't wait for Max the Mighty to see if the sequel is better then Freak the Mighty.

2.) I thought the book was good beacausee it tought you a good lesson that it does not matter whay you look like, it matters what in your inside.

1.) Max was angry with two people, Killer Kane, and dr.Spivix, he was mad at Killer Kane because he almost killed lorreta Lee, and Killer Kane took Max in that old house, and hid him inside, He was made at Dr. Spivix because he told Max that Freak was going to die soon, but he did not talk about it a lot, also i think that he was sade that freak died.

Max is mad at Doctor Spivak because Doctor Spivak said that he told Freak about the new body transplant when he was seven and Freak knew that when he was in the hospital and he was going to get the new body transplant he probably knew that he was going to die. So Doctor Spivak lied about that to Freak, and it kind of ment that he was going to die.
I would recomend this book to a friend because it is a very interesting and funny book that some people might enjoy. THANK YOU FOR READING IT WITH US MR. D!

1. I think that Max would be mad at himself because he couldn't see that the human being didn't invent a entire body transplant, yet. Maybe someday they will, but for now it is to hard. Max was mad at himself because he couldn't see the obvious. He probably was so mad at himself, because he would ever be able to give Freak a real good bye, now that he is dead. All he can do is talk to Freak in his heart.
Q 1, #3. Dr. Spivek is one person that helps Max get over his anger becasue she was telling Max that Freak had been coming into the hospital ever since he was a little boy. At the age of seven, Freak went to the hospital and he knew from the start he was going to have a short life. I think Dr. Spivek really helped calm Max down when he found out about Freak's death. Another person who helped him get over his anger was Loretta Lee. On the last page of the book, Loretta said, "So what are you doing these days?" Max replied, "Nothing." Then Loretta told him, "Nothing is a drag, kid. Think about it." Max thought about it all the way home and he finally figured out that sometimes in life you just have to move on, but not forget about the person because they will always be in your heart. Also you can't be depressed about something becasue sooner or later life will fly by and all your chances will be gone. So you should go out and take those chances before times runs out. That is why Max started writing in the empty book, which is filled up now, about Freak the Mighty's adventures.

2. My thoughts on this book are really good. This book, Freak the Mighty, was exciting, full of suspense, and heart warming. I loved this book, because it was full of amazingly descriptive characters. Such as, Killer Kane, who was the bare hand choking killer who did the time for his crime. Another descriptive character is Freak. Right away you found out that he was probably the most smartest kid you would ever meet. You also knew right away that Freak had a growing disibility when Max kept telling you in the book that Freak was about two feet tall.

In my opinion Freak the mighty was a great book. When I read it last year I had the same opinion but when you get to read a book more than once you tend to catch more which makes the book way more enjoyable. One of my favorite things about it would have to be the relationship between Max and Freak becasue it builds up over the period of the book and the bond was stronger. Also the suspense was very interesting because it was more suudle at the beginging and less over powering but as the book progressed it became more suspensful like at the end throughout chapter 20. It left me at the end of my seat. Lastly the book appealed to me becasue of the drama and emotion taking place. Because the author, Rodman Philbrick, created a vision of the character, Freak, so vividly it was almost as if i new him personaly therefore making his death more real and more emotional as well as the reaction of Max. After Dr. Spivak told Max about Freak's death by a transplant I could really imagine it so clearly. In my opinion I would recomend this book to a friend not only becasue of the resons i mentioned earlier but also becasuse it is an all around enjoyable and intreaging book to read.
