1. Reread Chapter 17, "By All That's Holy" and answer the following question. Why does Max agree with his father, who says, “I Kenneth David Kane, do swear by all that’s Holy that I did not murder this boy’s mother..." (p.113) What does the story Kenny "Killer" Kane tells about the “injustice” that was done to him, tell you about him as a person and a father?

I think he agreed with him because he was scared of his dad, because if he didn't agree with him his dad, he would do something bad to him. That tells me that he is probaly a bad father if he did he really kill someone. If he didn't kill someone I think that it tells that he is an honest person, but that doesn't prove if he is a good father or not. I think he is a killer, because he was the one who did go to jail after a murder.
Max agrees with his father that he did not murder this boys mother because if he didnt agree with his father than his father would of did something to him because on page 114 since Max didnt answer his question he started to get really mad so if Max didnt agree with him his father would of probally did something to Max because if he yelled at Max when he did not answer a question than it would of been worse than before.

Max agreed with his father that he did not murder maxs mom because if he didnt agree with his father than he would get really angry because on page 114 Max didnt answer his question so if max didnt agree then it would be even worsae because than he would be more mad because not agreeing with your father about not murdering someone than it is worse than just not answerig a question.
I think Max agrres with his father beacause he is in some mess beacause hid dad could kill him at any time. So Max is saying things that prove the KILLER KANE inesent. He's trying to say the right thing so that the father wont get mad and murder him. Beacause Max is in a far away place and anything can happen if he doesn't happened.

Max agrees with his father because he is scared of him and doesn't want trouble with his father because if they call him Killer Kane then he might think that He would kill him.
It tells me what kind of person and a father by saying on page 112, Killer Kane goes,"Every night I cried myself to sleep," that shows that he has feelings and he knows that he didn't do it and he is sad that he can't see his family and he is lossing years of his life. He is scared that something could happen to Max that is bad because he has been tough about not having a dad for eight years and not having a mom at all. It shows that he cares about his son.

Question 1: Max agrees with his father because he's afraid of him, he calls him sir. It's kind of weird for me to call my dad sir. If he didn't agree I bet that Max thought he would get hurt because he didn't. You can tell he's afraid because it on page 113-114 it says "...but my throat closed and my tongue is so dry, I can't hardly open my mouth". That shows he was nervouse in a scared way.
Question 2: It tells us that Kenny is a tough and senictive person. He cries and shows that he's senictive but you can't hear it in his voice and that makes him seem tough. It also shows that he religest and belives in God. Max isn't just like his dad on the outside he's like him on the inside to.There both tough on the outside and kind on the inside or at lest that at that point in the story Kenny's seems kind.
Max agrees with his father because when you swear by the bible you must be telling the truth. Plus he said I ask god to punish me If I'm lieing. But nothing happend so Max believes him.
The story his father tells him seems to tell about he was inosint. But he might of been guilty. So he trys to convince Max that an Injustice was done to him. Max now posibly belives his father was inocent and that he didn't kill Max's mom.
Killer kane said "Agreat injustice was done to me boy" "Waht those people did was stole my life. They took years away from me,might as when cut my heart out with a knife, and that's how it lies away each night and think about the injustice that was done to me. They'd blame me for all the wrongs in the world, those people.By witch I mean geezers, her folks that always hated me, and of corse the police who failed to see the truth." By Killer Kane saying that that sounded like the worse father saying the police put him in jail for no reason. He's a bad parent. He lies many times. I like that that he made up the hole story and the thing on the holy bible is a lie,too because the next chapter name is "never trust a cripple"

part(1)I think max agrees with his father because max might not want his father(killer kane) to hurt him or yell at max for not tursting him. Well we don't really know if killer kane is really killer kane and all the chapters we have read it never said anthing abuot max's father killing max's mother.
Part(2) He tells the story that he did not do what he was accuse of. A crime he did not commited and he said that he should have never been put in jail. He aslo said that it took eight years off his life. I think that he is a good person and father because he comes to get his son when he knows that if anyone sees him he could be put in jail for more years. He also brings Max to a house that no one is in and tells him the story that he didn't do what the cops put him in jail for. The reson that most people call him "killer kane is because they have never let Kenneth David Kane's tell his side of the story. If they could find the mother and if she still is alive then they could prove everone wrong that called max's father killer kane. He could be out of jail forever and could come to maxes house ever day of the week.

Max ageed with his father because he said that " if it is not the truth my let god strike me dead. When I first read that I knew it was true. I think about him as a person that he did not kill or hurt, the court made mustake,I think that is one of the reasons he kidnapped Max. And as a father I think he set a bad touch to max for when he gets older. Also he kidnapped Max because he did not want to wake up Grim and Gram so he went threw the doors that come threw the basement,so he took Max because he did not want to tell that he was their house, and to keep it a secret to the others.

1) Max agrees with his father, who says "I David Kane, do swear by all that's Holy that I did not murder this boys mother..." because he swears and promises to Max that he didn't do it, which convinces Max to believe him. After that Max's father says "And if that isn't the truth, may God strike me dead.." page 113 which also makes Max agree with him that he didn't do because saying, have God strike you dead, you're saying, you can take my life away from me, that's how much you should believe me, and Max does believe him. "Killer" Kane tells Max... "What those people did, they stole my life. They took years away from me, might as well of cut out my heart with a knife..." page 112. He's saying that the Police took the wrong person to jail, and that he's "innocent." This tells me that he's trying to be a good father, and seem like a good person, but he's just doing it, so he can spend time with Max. So, this tells me, he's not being a good person, but being a good dad for wanting to spend time with his own son.

1.Max agreed with Killer Kane because he wants to trust his father. I'm not saying he shouldn't voice his own opinion, it's just that Max first met him a really long time ago,and he doesn't want to start a fight in the first 10 minutes.Especially on Christmas.
2.The 'injustice' story tells me that Killer Kane as a person is untrustworthy. (p.112) "He stops to rub away another stream of tears. There's no crying in his voice, you can't hear it there." When a person cries, their voice changes but his didn't change. I think Killer Kane is a a bad father because he lies so easily,it will teach Max that lying is what you do in life, and not to take responsibility for your own actions.

It tells that he thinks it was unfair that he was "deprived" of his son for so long. I also think he might be telling the truth about not killing max's mom. It seems a little bit odd that a may-be killer is treating his son so nicely after eight years of not seeing anything but pictures of him. I also think it is odd hat he would be allowed out before the parole. Maybe he broke out.

I think that Max agrees with his father on p.113/114 because he is probably scared of him and if he says anything that his dad didn't wan't him to he might hurt him. What the story that Killer Kane tells Max on p.112 makes you think is that he is a loving and caring person and wouldn't hurt a fly, and that since he is big people assume that he did it.

1. Max agrees with his father when the father says, "I Kenneth David Kane, do swear by all that's Holy that I did not murder this boy's mother..." because Max knows this man has been in jail and the court doesn't usaully make mistakes like putting someone in jail if they didn't commet the crime. Also, Max relizes how big and tough and strong the father is and probably doesn't want to get into any trouble. If you swear on the Bible you should never tell a lie to it. Max definetly doesn't want to get in trouble with his father because he can't trust anyone when you first met them. Would you just go up to a stranger and start talking them? I definetly wouldn't! Also, because my mom told me never to.

2. The story Kenny "Killer" Kane told about the "injustice" that was done to him as a person and father was... unfair! He gave Max an example of how these people had treated him. He said, "You know hwo kids can be mean in school, mean as animals? It was like that, except these weren't kids, they're adults who should know better, except they're so ignorant and hateful they believe the worst. (pg. 112)

Max agrees with his father because he doesn't want to get killed, if his father really is a killer. If Killer Kane really killed his mother, then he could kill his son too.
What the story that Killer Kane tells about himself as a person, is that he was big and scary, but he acts like a regular father would. When his mother died, he was accused of it since he's a big and scary guy, no one realizing his inner personality. I'm not sure if I believe him.

Max agrees with his father for the sigle reason that he's afraid. I think that he doesn't believe that his father isn't responsible for his mothers death, and I also think that he doesn't doubt his father would do the same to him that may have done to his mother. In an attempt to protect his life, he agreed and said he was in fact satisfied.
The story that "Killer" Kane tells about the "injustice" that was done to him shows that he does regret that he's lost so many years of his life, and that he probably wishes that he could have been a better father.

Max agrees with his father who says "I Kenneth David Kane,do swear by all that's Holy that i did not murder this boy's mother..." The story Killer Kane tells about "injustice" that was done to him. It tells me that as a person and a father that on page 112 the story is "What those people did they stole my life." I think that this is the most important part of the whole story because the police put "Killer Kane" in jail for a crime that he says that he did not really do in his words. The police are saying that "Killer Kane" was doing all of these bad things and he says that he wasn't. So the police should under stand that if he did not say he did it then he did not do it and to be in jail and to leave a son or daughter behind is so hard it heart breaks you. Then what are you going to say to your kids. "Killer Kane" is lucky that he did not leave behind more than one child.

I think that Max agrees with his Father because he must be religious because they believe that when you put your right hand on the Bible and swear on something that it must be true. When "Killer" Kane talks about the injustices done to him it makes me feel that it was unfair to lock him up like an animal if he didn't do the crime, although I believe that he did. The story that he tells makes me think that he is a person with real feelings but still a murderer. As a father I think that if he didn't kill Annie or anyone else ever then he would have a pretty good reputation. Although Killer Kane tied up Max to his waist that was pretty mean instead of believing that his own son wouldn't run away and tell Gram and Grim.

1)I think Max agrees with his father because his father put his right hand on the bible and swore that he never killed Max's mother, and God strike him and he wasn't struck . This plus the fact that he seems like a good person. For example, when he gets to the woman's house he says he wouldn't steal from an old woman, and Iggy agrees. He also asks Max if he ever got the presents and letters he sent from prison. And then he has cries when Max says no.
2) The story the dad tells about the injustice done to him shows us that he is not like a criminal type of person. He is crying about getting blamed and not believed, and losing years of his life.

Max agrees with his father because he knows Killer Kane can hurt him easily and is afraid of him. He knows Killer Kane can beat him up so, he just doesn't want to get into any more trouble.
It tells me that Kenny Kane is MAYBE a honest person. I agree with the first blog. It doesn't show us anything about how good of a father he is.

1. I agree with DM 10 because I don't think that Killer Kane would kill Max's mom. Also Killer Kane said that If he was lying god would strike him dead. The government put him in jail for 8 years. And like he said he probably didn't do anything to Max's mom. So he is inasent.
I think Max agrees with his father because his father could kill him or because his father said I did not murder this boy's mother. And if that isn't the truth, may God strike me to death(page113)and that did not happen.

I think that Max belives killer kane (Max's dad) because maybe since if he didn't belive him he might of done something to Max and Why would Killer Kane do that to Max and not to the cops in prison? Also the story was about when Kenny said that they took his life away with a crime that he didn"t do
