I think it's important to him because it was Max's first present from a friend ever. I also think it's very important to him because Freak made all by himself. It is also cool because the dictionary is meanings the Max could understand and find easyer than a reagular dictionary. Itis also his very first book he has had to keep for himself. C.M.#11
I think that Freak's christmas gift was so important to Max because Freak is probobly Max's first friend, and it showed that Freak cared because he did it all by himself.

Freak's present is important to Max because the dictionary might mean that Freak has faith in Max that he can learn to read and write. Also, Max doesn't like to look things up in front of people because he feels inferior to them when they are smarter than he is. Now, Max can look up Freak's words at his own pace, and not get embarrassed. However, the definitions aren't the real meanings of the the words, just Freak's definitions. So Max can only use the words in a certain contex and when he's talking to Freak.

It was so importent to Max because he made it himself and he gave max just some tools. Now if Freak says something he doesn't understand then he can just look it up. On pg.97 freak says " What I did is take all my favorite words and put them in alphabetical order." Then Max knew exacly what it was "like a dictionary" Max says. Max can get to know him better by what words he choses. Like maybe an AARDVARK is his favorite animal. Also, Max is happy because Freak spead a lot of time on it. Freak cares about him.

It's important to Max because inside it's all of Freak's favorite words going in alphabetical order, like a dictionary, but written by Freak. Max is actually amazed, and Grim calls him a genius because of this invention.

The reason it is so important fro Max to receive this gift is because it was given from Freak. Since the past few seasons Max and Freak's friendship has gotton stronger and they have become to know each other a lot more. Max probably never had a friend like Freak, or maybe even a friend at all. He probably felt special and liked by a friend to recieve a gift like this. Also, Max knew that Freak had put a lot of work into this gift and wanted it to be just right for Max, and probably knew that freak had done that for him and that made Max feel really good and special about himself.

I think that the gift that Freak gave to Max was important to him because Max has never had a real befor. If you have never had a friend before, and your first REAL friend gave you something that he, or she spent alot of time on it making it spetial for you, wouldn't you be happy or feel that it was important to you? I would.

I think it is important because Max has never really never had a friend and this is his first present from a friend. Freak made the dictionary up himself. He used meaning that were easy for max to use and know the meanings of the words. Max can read the book because freak basicaly showed max how to look up words. Max also thought it was a good gift because freak made it all by himself.

I agree with N.E.#4 because like he said Freak is Maxes first friend and Freak giving him his own dictionary was like a friendship bracelet accept it was a dictionary. Also it might help Max learn some of Freaks vocabulary.

The gift from Freak is so importent to Max because you can tell that Freak made it from the bottem of his heart. Like I said befor Max and Freak are like brothers. They spend all there time togther. Max ceared so much when Freak went to the hospitle, and was really scared. If you have a sybling you would want to be with them if they went to the hospitle. Also the diconary could be like Max is getting smart enough to carry around a diconary and know how to use it.

Beacause Max always has to use the dictionary to get what Freak is saying So know he has his own for himself. so know he can have a dictionary handdy just like Freak so he can look words up in a way that he can understand instaed of trying to understand the hard definaction in the real dictinary.

I think its important to Max because it is the first present that was hand made and also the hand made present was from a freind and i think that it meant that he wants to be freinds with Max.Also that was Freaks private dictoinary and it was the only dictinary that Max could really understand.

The pyrimid shaped box is importent to Max because It was his first gift from a friend. So it made him feal good. Plus he is happy he doesn't alwayes have to go to the dictionary all the time. Plus he might be intrsted how the button opens the box so he thinks the gift is cool.

It's important to Max because this is not a regular dictionary you can buy at the store. THIS is a dictionary made by Max's best and only friend, put in a pyramid shaped box, with arrows telling you how to open it. THIS dictionary with definitions, made by Freak, is special to him. Even though Max is Killer Kane's son, there's someone who cares about him.

I think it is important to Max because it showed that max put time and effort into the present. Now he has his own dictionary to look up words meanings as said by Freak, too. I think he might start acually using it now. He also can learn to speak more frequently.

I think why Freak's Christmas gift was so important to Max because It showed that Freak cared about Max and they were true friends. Because they were friends Max could tell Freak what was wrong, just like he can't use a dictionary properly all the time. Freak understood this so he made something that would be easier for Max. It also showed that Freak cares because It is a list of his favorite words not just every word. And it showed that Freak was good with giving up his time to show his friendship and to listed the words alphabetically to make it easier for Max. It also was the first book and bookcase that Max has in his room or mabey in his life.

I think that it was special because freak is always using big words an max doesnt know what they mean, and he hates looking up words, probely because freak has a collage dictionary or somthing and not even a normal kid could understand the defintition. Mabey freal wanted to dumb it down but I thin he wanted to make Max laugh

Freak's christmas present to Max has sentilmental value to Max because Freak handmade it. I think that if you handmake something it shows that you really care a lot as opposed to going out to the store and buying something like on p. 97 the book said that you could tell Freak made it.
